Rex Rebukes the AAA for its Hypocritical Accusations

Responding to the Australian Airports Association’s (AAA) call for an end to airline secrecy to high regional airfares, Regional Express (Rex) says that the AAA is being hypocritical as its own members have never disclosed its basis for the astronomical head taxes they impose which in some cases can amount to over $50 for a one-hour flight.

Rex Announces Community Fare for King Island

Regional Express (Rex) has announced the introduction of the highly successful Rex Community Fare scheme between King Island and Melbourne. The introduction of this community-focused initiative coincides with an agreement being reached with King Island Council in regards to the King Island Airport charges.

Rex Flight ZL139 Sydney to Merimbula

Regional Express (Rex) flight ZL139 operating from Sydney to Merimbula, 29 August 2019, experienced a cockpit sensor alert associated with the aircraft’s right engine en route to Merimbula. In accordance with the manufacturer’s standard operating procedures, the flight crew conducted the applicable checklist actions which included an engine shut down. Upon completion of all the checklist actions, the cockpit sensor alert ceased. The aircraft landed safely and without any further incident at Merimbula airport at 8:42 pm.

Rex Announces FY18/19 Full Year Results

The Regional Express (Rex) Group today announced a statutory Profit After Tax (PAT) of $17.5 million (M) on a turnover of $317.6M for Financial Year 2019 (FY19). This represents a 3.6% improvement in PAT on the back of a 7.5% improvement in revenue over the previous FY.

Rex Announces Community Fare for Remote and Outback Queensland

Regional Express (Rex) has today announced the introduction of the highly successful Rex Community Fare scheme throughout remote and outback Queensland. The Rex Community Fare scheme will be made available to 23 Queensland (QLD) communities across the Rex operated Western 1 and 2 routes from Brisbane, the Northern 1 and 2 routes from Townsville and the Gulf route from Cairns.

CASA Debunks all Allegations Against Rex in its Formal Audit Report

The audit was in response to a baseless and scurrilous complaint by a disgruntled engineer and his union that Rex had a bad safety culture.
